A decade since 2006's Rocky VI, better known as Rocky Balboa, and we're finally reunited with Sylvester Stallone's iconic eponymous boxer, as we return to that world for this year's Rocky spin-off. But, can this film stand alone on its own merit or does the legacy and the name haunt it? Kicking off the new year is my first review for 2016: Ryan Coogler's Creed.
2015 is the year of boxing films. Just last month, we saw Jake Gyllenhaal up against the ropes in Southpaw; Miles Teller will be starring in the boxing biopic Bleed For This and Michael B. Jordan will be making a hit in Rocky spin-off Creed, which has received a brand-new trailer.
Just next month, we're set to see Jake Gyllenhaal step into the ring for Southpaw. However, there's another notable boxing drama coming later this year: Creed. Well, it has just received a teaser trailer and it's hitting hard.
