With just over a year to go until release, one of the most anticipated films ever (certainly of next year) - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - and, after a HUGE wave of rumours and hype, it has FINALLY received a teaser trailer... and it's every bit as exciting as you expected it would be. Nostalgia, ahoy.
Let's talk about it!

[Head HERE For Our In-Depth Trailer Breakdown]

A LONG time has past since the last Star Wars film was released and, now, over a decade later, we're getting ready for the return to one of the biggest franchises of all time, with next year's Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. That's right folks, STAR WARS IS FINALLY BACK BABY! Lots of discussion, lots of speculation and just lots of anticipation has revolved around this film, this reveal even, for some time now. It's here.

Today, Disney and LucasFilm have launched a short 88 second long teaser trailer for the fortchoming project and, whilst it doesn't reveal much (near to nothing at all), it's very awesome indeed! It's every bit as epic as you thought it would be and it does what a teaser's supposed to; get you frustrated by not revealing anything but showing enough just to get you on-board what is to come. This isn't just a trailer though, this is an event.

In the past couple of months, a lot of rumours have gotten out as to when we'd be seeing the trailer. Some people said it would be here with Mockingjay, others with The Hobbit: The Battle of the Fuve Armies. However, only recently was it revealed that Disney had something bigger up their sleeve. From today, the trailer will be shown alongside EVERY showing of EVERY movie for this Thanksgiving weekend in select U.S theatres (for a list of theatres, head here) and, of course, it has also been released online for everyone else's viewing pleasure.

As well as that, it's just the comeback of a franchise that was golden when it was big. Despite all the various rumours, we've seen and know very little about this film too so everyone's excited for every little thing we can suck out of this. We're going to in this film with very little drops of knowledge and we're starting fresh - new characters, new story etc - so get to experience the birth (or rebirth, in this case) of Star Wars again.

I admire what the studio have done to debut the reveal as it's a HUGE, unique idea and one worthy of a trailer so big and glorious. Plus, for those lucky enough to watch the revelation that is The Force Awakens trailer in any of the select cinemas; there's no better way to see it for the first time than on the big-screen. It's a special trailer and no one can deny that.

I love this teaser and I'm certainly very excited for seeing more from the film in the near future. It's definitely gearing up to be a MASSIVE production, when it hits next Christmas and there's just something magical about the revival of something as classic and great as Star Wars. Episode VII is easily the most anticipated film of 2015 and is probably going to be the biggest grossing too, obviously.

Now, I think I've wasted enough of your time. You can experience the first glimpse  of Episode VII below. I hope you're ready. Savour every second of it, especially if it's your first time seeing it. I know, I get over-excited about things like this but this is a rare trailer viewing experience. Ready?

Check out the teaser below:

From John Boyega as a Stormtrooper to Daisy Ridley on her speed biker to the newly designed Stormtroopers to the Millenium Falcon and Tie Fighter sequence and, of course, the mysterious being wielding the crazy lightsaber, the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is simply one of the BEST teasers for a movie. Who's excited? I know I definitely am!!! This teaser is going to be repeated over and over again, I know that much.

Picking up after Return of the Jedi, this will unite old characters with new to kick off a new era of Star Wars films. From what we see in that teaser, it's going to be awesome. There's lots of nostalgia here, from the old films, but there's also lots of exciting new features too. It's going to be good! Hopefully the film is just as good - if not better - than how gloriously the film has portrayed it to be.
