'Suicide Squad' Cast Revealed

According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, actors Tom Hardy, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevinge, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and, none other than, Mr. Will Smith will star in David Ayer's forthcoming DC film, as the team of anti-heroes known as the Suicide Squad. Hardy is set to play the group leader Rick Flagg, Courtney will be Captain Boomerang, Delevinge will play Enchantress with Smith as Deadshot and Leto and Robbie as the best tag team around - the Joker and his even crazier girlfriend Harley Quinn. The film will begin shooting, next April, in Toronto, for a 2016 release.
Talk about AWESOME! I have to say, that's a very impressive lineup! However, it was all previously rumoured. I think the only actual surprises here are the roles everyone's going to play because, whilst we had some sort of an idea, rumours surrounding who would play who were just scattered all over the place. Also, I believe Delevinge's name is a new one to pop up. Even though we had some idea, this ensemble is still incredible!
We have A LOT of top A-list talent here! Will Smith is still one of the biggest actors in the world today. He always has been, and still is, one of my favourite celebrities out there. He rarely does ensemble projects, let alone ones like this, so the fact that he has been cast in this is just great new. Plus, him as Deadshot? That's going to be the coolest thing ever! I LOVED him as Hancock so I'm intrigued to see how he portrays Deadshot.
Next is Tom Hardy, a DC aficionado it seems. He was in HIGH demand recently, for Marvel's Dr. Strange, Fox's X-Men: Apocalypse and this! He's yet another man of remarkable talents and I'm sure he'll do one hell of a good job leading this HUGE team, as Flagg. I'm not too familiar with Cara's work but I do know that she is getting noticed a lot more nowadays, as is Jai and I'm sure a film as recognised as this is sure to put them EVEN higher.
We then have the GORGEOUS and INSANELY TALENTED Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn! She'll FINALLY get her arrival on the big-screen but, better yet, it'll be with her love interest; Jared Leto as the most iconic villain ever - The Joker. I'm very confident the banter and chemistry between them is going to be great and just loads of fun! I'm also interested to see how Leto does, following in the footsteps of Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger.
Run me over and call me dinner. Wow. I don't know how Warner Bros. managed to pull it off but they have gotten themselves a glorious ensemble, simply oozing with masses and masses of talent, to head up one of the earlier films in their DC slate. It's certainly put them far in their race to catch up with Marvel. That's for sure because, let's be honest, who isn't just mindblown by the Suicide Squad cast.
According to Variety, Jesse Einsberg will be reprising his role as Lex Luthor for the adaption and, believe it or not, Oprah Winfrey is being eyed to play Amanda Waller, the Nick Fury of the Suicide Squad. Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis are also circling the role too though so, hopefully, we'll have official word and confirmation about that soon too. As for now, let's just rejoice over the heavenly reveal that is the official casting of the Suicide Squad.

With Fury's David Ayer at the helm and starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Tom Hardy, Jai Courtney, Jared Leto and Cara Delevinge, Suicide Squad will open on August 4th, 2016. With a great team behind it, this is certainly shaping up to be a magnificent film.
