The Warner Bros. Comic-con panel happened over the weekend and whilst all eyes were on Batman v Superman, the unexpected surprise of the studios' presentation was the Suicide Squad - which received a truly epic teaser trailer. Well, it has been released online.

The cast of the film came on-stage to debut some first footage from the forthcoming comic-book adaptation. Joining director David Ayer on stage was the cast of the film, including Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman and more. The footage came in the form of a teaser trailer and it was amazing. "All this good versus evil shit is played out," Ayer teased. "It's time for bad meets evil."

It's safe to say that Hall H went crazy after the trailer was shown. You can read my report of the presentation here. Of course, when only the Dawn of Justice trailer was officially released online, fans wanting to see the Suicide Squad reveal were quite disappointed. The trailer quickly leaked online and went viral so, it's only right that Warner Bros. have officially released it in all its glory. You can find the rest of my Comic-con coverage here.

I have been looking forward to this film since it was announced and this shows why. This is a much darker and grittier film than any other comic book adaption we've seen. It looks like David Ayer has captured the true essence of what makes this team and these characters so great. From what we saw, everyone looks awesome. Harley Quinn and The Joker are clearly the favourites and they are so creepy. The shot, at the end, where The Joker leans into the camera is genuinely unsettling. The tone is dark, the look is dirty and grimy and there's an intense feel to the proceedings. The characters are psychos and everything you hoped they would be. Suicide Squad is shaping up to be pretty epic.

With Fury's David Ayer at the helm and starring Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Jared Leto (The Joker) and Cara Delevinge (Enchantress), Suicide Squad will open on August 4th, 2016.
