Having opened to some great reviews at the Telluride Film Festival last week, the long delayed and problematic Steve Jobs is finally nearing its release so Universal have unveiled a brand-new trailer for the film, starring Michael Fassbender as the titular tech genius who invented the future with Apple.

This afternoon, the final trailer for the forthcoming biopic has been released and it's wonderful. Considering all the problems this film went through towards the end of last year - with all sorts of script and casting problems - it's great to finally see it here, especially since it is one of my anticipated films of the Fall movie season. Just last week, the film premiered at Telluride and the early buzz was very positive and suggests that Fassbender absolutely crushes it as Jobs and may be a very strong contender come Awards season.
 
Of course, Danny Boyle is directing off of a script by Andy Sorkin - both who have terrific track records in this genre - and both have been receiving a lot of praise too, most especially the latter for his script. Fassbender is joined by a star-studded ensemble, all of which are massively talented and look great in their corresponding roles. The latest trailer is really showing the relationship between Jobs and his daughter, which is one of the main focuses of the premise, and I'm very intrigued to see how it is portrayed.

Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, the film takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter. 
Steve Jobs is directed by Academy Award® winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) and written by Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, HBO’s The Newsroom), working from Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography of the Apple founder. The producers are Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan, Source Code), Guymon Casady (HBO’s Game of Thrones, Hope Springs) of Film 360, Scott Rudin and Academy Award® winner Christian Colson (Slumdog Millionaire, Selma). 
Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 12 Years a Slave) will play Steve Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with Academy Award®-winning actress Kate Winslet (The Reader, Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind) starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen (Neighbors, The Interview), and Jeff Daniels (HBO’s The Newsroom, Good Night, and Good Luck.) stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. The film also stars Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Being Flynn) as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team. 
With Danny Boyle at the helm, off of a script by Aaron Sorkin, and starring Michael Fassbender as our lead man, Seth Rogen as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman, the former Mackintosh marketing chief, Jeff Daniels as Apple's former CEO, John Sculley, Katherine Waterson as Job's ex-girlfriend, Chrisaan Brennan, and Mackenzie Moss and Perla Haney-Jardine as his daughter Lisa - at different points in her life, growing up, Steve Jobs will open, in the U.S, on October 9th, before hitting us, here in the U.K, on November 13th, 2015.
