The other night, during The Walking Dead's 90-minute special, AMC finally debuted the first trailer for their forthcoming adaption of the hit and infamous comic series Preacher and it's something of a marvel.
Ever since Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's controversial comics of the same name released back in the 90's, Preacher has tried and tried time and time again to reach the big screen. And, after decades, the time is nigh as the series is fianlly going to be coming to life and getting the Hollywood treatment, hitting small screens and arriving as a new show on AMC next year.
Agent Carter's Dominic Cooper will be leading the show, as our eponymous preacher who gets possessed by a demonic creation and spawn of the devil. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Caitlin are the ones taking the helm, behind the scenes - with the former two staying on as executive producers. A premiere date hasn't been revealed yet but the series is expected to air on AMC in mid-2016; we can expect to hear more on that soon.
The first trailer for Preacher premiered alongside this week's episode of another one of AMC'S hit show, The Walking Dead. Of course, it's a short reveal and doesn't give too much away in terms of plot details - the trailer doesn't even touch on the whole supernatural element of the premise. However, from what we do get to see, it seems as though Rogen and Goldberg have captured the true spirit of the comics and have captured the infamous black humour perfectly too. It's an intense and dark first trailer that shows a lot of promise. Fans of Preacher, this is the adaption you've been waiting for.
