The 69th Annual Cannes Film Festival is set to begin in France tomorrow and from all of the many glamorous and exciting projects set to premiere there, one film that will be making its debut that has gained a lot of attention is Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon, and, ahead of its premiere, it has received a whole slew of new images and posters.

Winding Refn's latest film revolves around a young model, played by the always talented Elle Fanning, who gets caught up in the dark side of the L.A scene when some "beauty-obsessed women" come after her. As we saw in the first trailer from last month, The Neon Demon will show us a darker side to the young actress than we've seen before because her character Jesse isn't quite as vulnerable and innocent as we may have first thought.

A couple of posters for The Neon Demon have released - one U.S one and an international one - and they're stylish and colourful and pretty visually arresting, as we'd expect from this director and this film. A whole slew of stills have also been released which put Elle and her co stars Jena Malone, Abbey Lee and Bella Heathcote in the spotlight. Like the posters, the images are gorgeous, stylish, dark and bloody - all NWR trademarks. Little White Lies also covered the film and debuted some images - all of which I've collated together and embedded below. To LWL, Winding Refn explained that the film is a personal search for his "inner 16-year-old girl".

Here's the synopsis:
When aspiring model Jesse (Elle Fanning) movies to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women that will do anything to take what she has.
With Nicolas Winding Refn at the helm, and starring Elle Fanning, Abbey Lee, Bella Heathcote, Christina Hendricks, Jena Malone and Keanu Reeves, The Neon Demon will premiere at Cannes this month before hitting the U.S in June and, hopefully, the U.K soon after.
