The first trailer for Whiplash director Damien Chazelle's second feature film, the romantic musical La La Land, starring the always charismatic pairing of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, is here and it is dreamy and beautiful and oh-so-swoon-worthy.

Whiplash was, undoubtedly, my favourite film of 2015; it was great and I have seen it countless times since it released. I have been eagerly awaiting Chazelle's next picture, La La Land, since and, this afternoon, Summit Entertainment have debuted a short teaser trailer for the forthcoming musical. The film will reunite Gosling and Stone for the third time (after Crazy, Stupid Love and Gangster Squad) too, and will also reunite Chazelle with Whiplash star J.K Simmons. Check out the trailer:


La La Land was already one of my most anticipated films of this year but, after seeing this trailer, I'm more excited than ever to see it. I absolutely love this teaser - it's truly dreamy and transfixing. The film is set in modern-day Los Angeles yet it has an old-school kind of vibe to it in this that I adore. The film looks visually gorgeous too, from the stunning scenery to the vibrant colour palette and the polished off costumes.

 The song that you can hear in the trailer is the original track City of Stars, performed by Ryan Gosling himself, and it's available now on iTunes. It's classy and very catchy and accompanies the transfixing, wordless montage we see in the trailer so beautifully. I cannot wait to see Gosling and Stone reunite - who had great chemistry in Crazy, Stupid Love - in a film that actually looks like a proper musical too; there's an old-fashioned innocence and earnestness to it all that feels like the classic, great romances of the olden days. I can't wait.
