Ridley Scott, who directed the original in the 80s, is executively producing whilst up and coming director Denis Villeneuve is at the helm. It'll have been 35 years since the original released when this sequel hits, but, without further ado, check out the Blade Runner 2049 teaser below:
The original Blade Runner is one of my all-time favourite films, let alone one of my favourite sci-fi films ever. It was, and still is, breathtakingly exceptional filmmaking and storytelling. Of course, as is the case with any classic getting a sequel as many as 3 decades later, there's a lot of scepticism towards the idea of Blade Runner 2049. However, if there was any doubt, I'm sure it will have faded after seeing this teaser trailer because it's incredible.
The teaser doesn't give much away but it reintroduces us to Scott's world and Ford's Deckard Shaw, whilst also setting up a new leading man in Ryan Gosling's K. One of my favourite aspects of the original was how dark and mysterious it all was and I love how this reveal recaptures that same tone and atmosphere. Oh, and, of course, as we'd expect from this, it looks visually gorgeous - and we haven't even seen any of the CG yet!

K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.With Denis Villeneuve at the helm, and starring Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto, Blade Runner 2049 opens on October 6th, 2017.
