Disney Pixar's Coco has been gathering rave reviews overseas (it's still a month or so from its UK release) but the studio is getting ready for their next film already. Yes, our first look at Incredibles 2 has arrived.

Pixar debuted the trailer, and it's embedded below so check it out:

The Incredibles isn't just hailed by many as one of Pixar's best films, but just one of the best animated films ever. It's certainly a personal favourite of mine, and, like many others, I have been eagerly anticipating a follow-up ever since the credits rolled on that first film back in 2004. And now it is finally coming, and it looks... well... incredible. The teaser trailer is exactly just that: a teaser. It gives virtually nothing away, apart from establishing the tone and showing us some footage of Bob realising that Jack-Jack has powers and that there's a sequel to The Incredibles coming. But that's all it really needs to do. It definitely has me excited to see more!

Incredibles 2 - notice the lack of The in the title - is, easily, one of my most anticipated films of 2018 - a big statement, given all of the promising films releasing next year - and, whilst we don't get a huge amount on the plot here, it looks like it will recapture the tone and heart of the original. Some early footage was shown at D23 a few months back and it was received with overwhelming positivity; if Brad Bird - returning for the sequel - can even capture half the spirit of the first film, this is going to be great. I'm certainly very, very excited. Michael Giacchino's score is also sounding AMAZING. Ah, this is exactly how TEASER trailers should be. It's a perfect first look and flavouring and I am ready to get my superhero on come 2018.

Here's the film's synopsis:

Elastigirl springs into action to save the day, while Mr. Incredible faces his greatest challenge yet - taking care of the problems of his three children.

With director Brad Bird returning to the helm and starring the voice talents of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, and Samuel L. Jackson, Incredibles 2 hits U.K screens on July 13th, 2018.
