Ahead of the film's new trailer dropping tomorrow, some new images have arrived for Steven Spileberg's forthcoming Ready Player One.

Aside from the first-look teaser we got back at  Comic-con, all has been quiet on the Ready Player One front. But, as a part of their massive 2018 first-look coverage, Entertainment Weekly have released new stills from Spileberg's upcoming adapation of Ernest Cline's acclaimed novel of the same name.

 Ready Player One takes place in a post-apocalyptic near-future where the world basically resides in The OASIS - a VR world beyond imagination, created by the passed James Halliday (Mark Rylance). Our eyes into the story are Tye Sheridan's Wade/Parzival, who ventures on a quest to find 3 keys Halliday hid in the OASIS for someone to find - leaving the victor with all of his massive fortune and power he left behind. When talking about his character, Sheridan said, "[Parzival] is a bit more confident than Wade. It’s a nice little contrast between who he is in the OASIS and who he is in the real world. When we first meet Parzival, he wins the first race and his avatar becomes this celebrity within the OASIS. But [Wade] is an outcast and an underdog in the real world, and no one knows that he’s actually Parzival. It’s almost like a Clark Kent thing, where he’s someone super, but no one knows about it."

 These new images don't reveal a reat deal but they do give us a better look at some of the characters and the world Spielberg will be creating. When talking to EW on The OASIS, the director said the following, "There are so many more compelling reasons to escape into the OASIS than exist in real life. A lot of our movie is a comparative study: Which world would they rather spend their lives in — with all the distractions and complexities and perks of the digital world of the OASIS, or with the responsibilities of being a student or a parent living in real life? It’s real life versus virtual life. Which is more compelling?"

Here's the official synopsis:
In 2045, the planet is on the brink of chaos and collapse, but people find salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by James Halliday. When Halliday dies, he promises his immense fortune to the first person to discover a digital Easter egg that’s hidden somewhere in the OASIS. When young Wade Watts joins the contest, he finds himself becoming an unlikely hero in a reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical world of mystery, discovery and danger.
With Steven Spielberg at the helm, and starring Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, T.J Miller, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn and Mark Rylance, Ready Player One will be arriving on March 30th, 2018.
