With The Last Jedi on the horizon and 2017 coming to a close, we are currently being swarmed with all of the biggest trailers for next year's biggest films and a new look trailer and poster for Ready Player One have arrived.

Following some new stills for the film which released yesterday (check them out here), Warner Bros. Pictures have debuted the new trailer for Steven Spielberg's forthcoming adaptation of Ernest Cline's novel, so check it out below:

 For the uninitiated, Ready Player One takes place in a post-apocalyptic near-future where the world basically resides in The OASIS - a VR world beyond imagination, created by the passed James Halliday (Mark Rylance). Our eyes into the story are Tye Sheridan's Wade/Parzival, who ventures on a quest to find 3 keys Halliday hid in the OASIS for someone to find - leaving the victor with all of his massive fortune and power he left behind. The first-look teaser we got from SDCC earlier this year didn't give much away but welcomed us into the epic expanses of the OASIS and teased some new footage not from the novel, this trailer, however, builds on that and gives us more of a plot and introduces us to some of our main characters here - as well as tease more of the grandiosity of this VR world and Spielberg's epic vision for it.

 Personally, I'm excited for Ready Player One. It is my favourite novel of all-time, and with one of my favourite directors of all-time at the helm of its cinematic adaptation, it is - without a doubt - my most anticipated film of next year. But I'm skeptical. I love how the OASIS looks and I'm liking the Spielberg flare he seems to be bringing to this world but we still haven't seen much that sells it as a FAITHFUL adaptation; of course, keeping in line with the novel itself though, the trailer is packed full of loads and loads of awesome pop-culture references - just a flavour of what's to come. I remain cautiously optimistic, we shall see how it turns out come Spring 2018. Accompanying, a new poster has also been released - Ready Player One (leg longer than the other). It's cool, but the photoshop seems a little off. It's embedded below.

In 2045, the planet is on the brink of chaos and collapse, but people find salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by James Halliday. When Halliday dies, he promises his immense fortune to the first person to discover a digital Easter egg that’s hidden somewhere in the OASIS. When young Wade Watts joins the contest, he finds himself becoming an unlikely hero in a reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical world of mystery, discovery and danger.
With Steven Spielberg at the helm, and starring Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, T.J Miller, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn and Mark Rylance, Ready Player One will be arriving on March 30th, 2018.
