I've said it before and I'll say it again, 2014 has been a horrible year for family films. There have been very, VERY few decent ones. I'll tell you one thing, Annie is NOT one of them. It'll make you question who you are what you're doing with your life. I'm being serious.

Annie is NOT worth wasting my time writing about. I got up and I left. I didn't want to review it but I thought I should. It is a disgrace to films and a disgrace to the classic and just a disgrace to mankind in general. It is, in a word: shit. Very shit. Excuse my tongue but I'm sorry, there's no other way to say it.

This is helmed by Will Gluck. It follows our eponymous lead Annie as she sees her life change when she moves in with Will, who's running for mayor, after he sees that his reputation and images changes (for the better) after he saves her life. Now, Gluck has a small filmography but it does include Easy A and Friends with Benefits. He is not a bad director. I don't know what the hell he did with this. It's a poorly directed and poorly managed film.

It's a musical. It SHOULD have singing, dancing and some decent songs. What does it have? I don't even know. I wouldn't go so far as calling it singing or dancing and the songs are, well, terrible. It's all off-key and it just seems like no one can be bothered. I've seen better musicals than this. MAY better musicals. The sequences are terrible and just badly directed. It doesn't look professional and it's embarrassing to watch. To be honest, even the lip-syncing is atrocious and off in this. HOW HARD IS IT TO LIP-SYNC FOR GOD'S SAKE!

Southern Wild's Quvenzhané Wallis stars as Annie. She's joined by Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz and Rose Bryne - all of whom are good actors. Foxx is an AWESOME actor. He was FRICKING in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained as Django! He can sing, dance and he's just so cool. Why on earth would he stoop as low as this? I mean, really?

Then we have Diaz. She has been starring in some bad films lately but she's still not as poor as this, surely. She's still a decent actress... right? Oh and Bryne. Gosh, I LOVE her. She's so talented but this, for her too, is not good. They all look like fools in this and it's just embarrassing. This whole film is embarrassing and cringe-worthy. It makes the VIEWER feel uncomfortable; that's hard to do.

It's probably the worst film of the year. I hated every second of it and would rather watch any of the 2 previous Annie adaptions than this garbage. I'm not joking. It's AWFUL!!! It's predictable, it's boring, it's tedious and it's just not a good film. It's a family film but it's one the whole family will hate and hate with a passion.

Annie is an atrocity of a film that is embarrassing to watch and disgraces the classic story. It's not worth your time or money. In a word: shit.

(It's lucky it even scraped 1 star.)
